Naver Shopping Reorganization: Let's Play One More Time Coupang!

Naver is changing the 'Shopping' tab of its mobile app to 'Naver Plus Store'. Naver Plus Store is aiming to open within the year, and users who have not updated their apps can use the existing Shopping tab until December.

Naver Plus Store's core is to recommend products or benefits that are appropriate for the customer's context using AI technology. The addition of 'Naver Plus' to the name is presumed to be a strategy to reinforce the word 'benefit'. It is similar to the purple used in the existing Naver Shopping and is slightly brighter. The bottom navigation tabs used throughout the Naver app are changed to Home, Category, Search, Shopping MY, and Naver Move tabs to suit Naver Plus Store. The layout of the first screen is similar to the pattern of Korean shopping malls.

The existing product integrated search results will be changed to 'Naver Price Comparison'. Naver Price Comparison is improved to make it easier to compare your own shopping mall, similar products, quantity, and specifications with the catalog comparison function. It is a form that focuses on comparing products by including more information on the product card.

Naver competes with Coupang Wow, which provides similar membership services in partnership with services such as delivery and OTT. Starting from the end of November, Netflix advertising plan usage rights will be provided free of charge on Naver Plus. For 4,900 won per month, you can use the Netflix advertising plan worth 5,500 won per month. Naver Plus membership used to be able to choose between Naver Webtoon, Tving, and Naver Series, but now Netflix has been added. Now, with Naver Plus, you can receive free delivery from Yogiyo, Naver Cloud, movies, webtoons, dramas, and other content benefits.

Naver commerce transaction amount recorded 12.4 trillion won in the fourth quarter of last year, then stayed at 12.2 trillion won in the first quarter and 12.3 trillion won in the second quarter. Although overall sales increased due to advertising costs for C-commerce such as Ali and Temu, the transaction volume of products within Naver does not appear to have increased.
