The final stage of a design system was actual development implementation. However, as technology advances and implementation becomes less difficult, the importance of intention and outcome naturally increases. Especially now, with AI evolving into a stream of output-generating systems, the role of design systems is shifting from "a system that reuses a lot" to "a system that can execute well.".
While design systems in the past were primarily frameworks for large teams, today, design systems are increasingly needed to train and direct AI. Simply increasing development efficiency is no longer enough; creating systems that deliver real-world benefits to users and businesses is becoming increasingly important.
The key lies in principles and planning. Now, even if we don't create every element ourselves, we need to establish design principles and rules for delivering a good experience, and we need to make precise demands on people and AI. This requires a deep understanding of what conditions each element must meet and what effect it should produce. Simply put, we're moving beyond simply "what to create" to teaching people how to use it in what situations. While AI isn't yet at the level of perfectly creating everything, it can significantly increase productivity in some areas.
Another change is occurring. As the number of products and services that provide customer experiences powered by AI increases, service-level principles governing the use of AI (including ethics, trust, and quality standards) are also becoming necessary.
In this webinar, we'll introduce a design system that's evolved for a new era where AI must be "commanded well.".
*Please note that this course is not a tool course using Figma or MCP. It introduces the concept of how to adapt existing product design systems to the AI era.
A design leader who has achieved results at every stage of a startup from start to finish.
From being the first designer at a startup to directing the design of a team of 200, I've created design impact at every stage. My goal is to help people experience the world through design in a richer and more engaging way, and to create a design language that everyone can understand.
My first startup was co-founding Lineable, an IoT-based startup that uses Bluetooth location technology to prevent lost children. Later, I designed products and brands for Our Table, a service that provides special recipes for special occasions. Later, I joined the travel startup My Real Trip as a product designer and led the design team there. I also served as Head of Design at Healing Paper, which provides services for Gangnam Unnies. I currently run the design media company "Design Compass.".
