Netflix is introducing 'Clips,' a vertical video feed.
The biggest change is the bottom tab structure. The existing 'New & Hot' tab has been removed, and instead, separate Search and Clips tabs have been added. This change simplifies the structure to better suit mobile usage patterns, allowing users to find frequently used functions more quickly.
Newly added ClipsIt is a feed that displays key scenes from Netflix content as vertical videos. Netflix describes this as a personalized highlight reel. Users can discover the next content to watch by viewing short vertical videos without having to keep scrolling through long lists.
Netflix Chief Product Technology Officer Elizabeth Stone explained that this redesign is “an experience tailored to how members enjoy Netflix on their mobile phones.” This means that even moments of discovering content in a short amount of time or having a light laugh were taken into consideration.
