iOS 17.4 update: Adds new emojis

Apple has added new emojis. 118 new emoticons have been added, including phoenix, rhyme, and head shake. After Emojipedia's Unicode candidate was released in September last year, it was decided to apply it to iOS 17, and it was included in the iOS 17.4 release for iPhone and iPadOS.

Six new emoticon concepts have been added.

Emoticons shaking their heads horizontally and vertically have been added. Movement was expressed using blurred lines on a slightly smiling face with its eyes closed.

Lime and brown mushroom emojis have also been added. The lime was expressed in slices without changing the color of the lemon. It has changed from a seemingly poisonous red mushroom with white spots to a brown mushroom that is widely used around the world.

'Broken Chain', which combines chain and flame, and 'Phoenix', which combines bird and fire, were also added.

Four emoticons representing family members without facial or hair style descriptions have also been added. You can assign directions to several emojis that contain the direction of a person's movement, such as a person walking or running.

Emojipedia presents sample images and each company expresses them in its own style. It's fun to compare the design values pursued by each company. Apple describes things in detail and gently. Google describes it as simple and geometric. Samsung strikes a balance in between.
