Naver held the 'Dan 24' conference at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 11th and 12th. They announced AI-based shopping, enhanced membership, and personalized AI search.
Naver is planning to launch a shopping-only app called 'Naver Plus Store' in the first half of next year. Unlike Coupang's fulfillment service that handles everything from product purchase to delivery, this is a strategy to strengthen the alliance system with partners. We are preparing delivery services closely related to daily life, such as 'Now Delivery', which delivers daily necessities within an hour of ordering, and 'Desired Date Delivery', which installs furniture or home appliances.
The structure in which sellers directly contract with logistics companies will also change to a structure in which Naver signs delivery contracts with 12 logistics companies. Membership will be strengthened, allowing users to subscribe to Netflix starting this month, and a partnership with Socar is also planned for next year. Lee Yoon-sook, head of Naver’s shopping division, drew a line, saying, “We are not competing directly with Coupang, and Coupang seems to be going Coupang’s way, and Naver seems to be going Naver’s way.”
'AI Briefing', which integrates HyperclovaX into the search function, is also scheduled to be released next year. Kim Jae-yeop, the leader of Search Creative X, said that after operating AI Queue for a year, users increased the number of cases where they searched in sentence form, but did not continue asking questions. Accordingly, he said that a new search 'AI Briefing' that reflects user patterns will be introduced. AI Briefing's search result structure and type will vary depending on the individual's context.
In addition, the creative session on the second day was held under the theme of “Unified Creativity: Beyond Boundaries to Greater Possibilities,” and Choi So-hyun, Head of Creative & Experience, emphasized the expansion of creative roles and collaboration in creating experiences where technology meets users. Following this, several designers in charge of Naver’s creative introduced designs that contained efforts for better experiences under various topics such as Naver’s main page, Knowledge iN, 1784, Clip, Naver Place, and Project Flower.
