Buckingham Palace unveiled the logo for the coronation of King Charles III, which depicts a crown made up of the national flowers of the four British nations.
It contains roses from England, thistles from Scotland, daffodils from Wales and shamrocks from Northern Ireland. Combined, these four natural objects depict the Crown of St. Edward. Made for Charles II in the 17th century, the crown will be placed on the new king on May 6th. It will be used across banners, flags and merchandise at the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London in May and national events.
“The emblem speaks of the blissful optimism of spring and celebrates the beginning of a new Carolingian era in England.” said.
It was created by former Apple designer Jony Ive's design studio LoveFrom. I used Union Jack colors and made English and Welsh in a simple serif typeface. Together with Prince Charles, we created the Terra Carta Seal for a Sustainable Future in 2021.
