Maison Margiela has launched an eyewear collection with Gentle Monster. Designed with Creator Director John Galliano. Based on the concept of Artisanal Atelier, which creates haute couture collections, 11 types of sunglasses and glasses were presented.
The MM001 and MM002 sunglasses are a reinterpretation of the way they are worn as a hairband or tiara. MM003 is a sports style that mixes heterogeneous items, while MM004 and MM005 reinterpret oval sunglasses. MM008 is a cat eye frame. The MM006 and MM007 are decorated with the Maison Margiela logo on the left hinge, while the MM009, MM0010 and MM011 are angular and have an academic feel.
Various styles were presented, from one-piece curves to classic straight lines. The minimalistic and deconstructed characteristics of Maison Margiela and the avant-garde experimental character of Gentle Monster are exquisitely mixed. MM006 and MM007, which emphasize Maison Margiela's identity, are attractive as objects.
