Microsoft has unveiled its Windows 365-only cloud device, Windows 365 Link. It is an ultra-small mini PC designed to provide fast and secure access to cloud PCs, and will be released in April next year for $349 in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
Windows 365 Link operates quietly with a fanless structure and boasts a compact size of 120 x 120 x 30mm. The exterior of the device uses an eco-friendly design that uses 90% recycled aluminum and 100% recycled copper. It supports USB-A and USB-C ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3, and its video decoding and encoding functions can also smoothly run video conferencing apps.
The device is designed with security as the top priority, does not store local data or apps, and all executables must be signed by Microsoft to operate. It provides a secure authentication environment with support for passwordless login, FIDO USB security keys, and Microsoft Entra ID. IT administrators can easily manage the device through Microsoft Intune.
Windows 365 Link is suitable for corporate hot desk environments or remote work, and will also support Copilot Plus, a function that combines cloud computing and AI technology.
