Lotteria has released 'Riache' to celebrate Hangul Day. It collaborated with Lotte GRS Design Center and Yoon Design's typography performance group, Odd Sangsang. Based on the successful launch of 'Choak Ddanggyeoche' and 'Ttak Jjakboche' last year, this time we created a font to spread K-burgers around the world.
English version of Lotteria logo, which was updated last JulyThe impression is similar. Like the universal typeface of Bauhaus, it is designed around straight lines and circles. It is thick and fills the square. The internal space of Hangul with a consonant looks like a dot or line. The bend of N feels like a hamburger bun.
The goal was to create a universal font that everyone can use, minimizing individuality and emphasizing the similar shapes of the Korean letter 'ㄹ' and the alphabet 'S'. It is said to contain 'Ria Real', which is sincere to its native burgers, 'Ria Global', which aims to advance into the US market, and 'Ria Remember', which is an effort to leave a mark on customers. Riace Bold and Riace Regular are scheduled to be sequentially released in February 2025.
