MBUX (The Mercedes-Benz User eXperience) is a well-known Linux-based infotainment system optimized for vehicles. The voice assistant can listen to information about the weather or sports, and even control the smart home.

With this application of ChatGPT, you can now speak naturally instead of having to read a set command. I can understand the context of the question I am asking, so I can give more complex answers. When we move, we have a purpose. You can also ask for information about your destination or what to do on an empty schedule.

Joining is as simple as saying “Hey Mercedes, I want to join the beta program” to the car, and the beta test will run for three months.

📕 Editor's Notes

It develops when there is no alternative and there is value. Hands are difficult to use when controlling a car. Even if autonomous driving becomes possible, sitting in the driver's seat and controlling it using physical elements or screens is reassuring and comfortable.

In order to be more comfortable than now, it would be the direction to not use your hands. After everything turns into a screen, the concept of a driver's seat may disappear altogether. In future mobility interfaces, verbal commands come to mind rather than pressing buttons on a remote control or touching a fixed screen or smartphone.

In mobility, will Tesla become Apple and OpenAI become Android? The future of VUI is exciting. However, I hope it will not be added as much as the paid subscription.
