Apple Unveils Touch MacBook Pro

Apple has unveiled a MacBook Pro with added touch capabilities to the screen. The new products, announced on October 28, 2026, come in two models: 14-inch and 16-inch. While retaining the keyboard and trackpad, it adds a method to directly manipulate on-screen content with fingers.

Users can swipe through web pages and zoom in on photos with two fingers. They can also drag slides between presentations or double-tap a window to fill the screen. The touch sensor is integrated into the display panel. The hinge has also been redesigned to reduce shaking when pressing the screen.

Touch controls are also applied to creative apps. In Pixelmator Pro, you can draw directly on the screen and select areas. In Logic Pro, you can play on-screen keyboards and drum pads. In Final Cut Pro, you can move clips and zoom in on editing sections by spreading your fingers. Existing shortcuts and trackpad gestures can also be used.

The display is a 'PROLED XDR' using a tandem OLED method with two stacked light-emitting layers. It supports a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz and P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts. A Dynamic Island has been added to the top of the screen, allowing you to check music playback or real-time activities and operate them with your fingers.

The body is thinner and lighter than before. It is equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, and the starting price in the U.S. is $2,899 for the 14-inch model and $3,399 for the 16-inch model. The release date announced by Apple is November 6.
