Figma Weave Unveils Template to Create User Personas from Photos

Figma has released a user persona template example using Figma Weave.

Sarah Clayton, a senior product designer at Dropbox Replay, used Weave to create more realistic images of ideal customer profiles. Previously, personas were described using diagrams, user stories, and repetitive portraits. However, it was difficult to adequately show the actual work environment of users.

This template places the user within a specific scene based on a portrait and prompts. For example, you can create a scene of a media producer working in front of a Premiere Pro screen. You can also adjust the outfit or mood by adding reference images.

The key is to transform personas from static documents into storytelling tools. Product teams can more quickly share where users work and in what context they use the product.

AI is not a feature that replaces research results. It is closer to a tool that conveys already defined customer profiles more vividly. This is an example of how it can influence the way design teams persuade and share user understanding internally.
