This product is designed based on the in-game 3D data of the Pip-Boy 3000 featured in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. While there have been replicas based on props from the Amazon TV series version, this is nearly the first model that fans of the original game have been waiting for. It is a symbolic release for fans who have long imagined wearing a virtual computer on their arm.
Considerable effort was also put into the exterior design. The front case is made of die-cast metal, and the body uses ABS material. The arm cuffs are made of memory foam, and a 22mm extension bar is included for larger arm circumferences. The screen is a 4-inch IPS LCD. You can switch between the green interface of Fallout 3 and the amber interface of New Vegas. You can navigate hundreds of menus directly using the console's scroll wheel and dial, and the screen reproduces the scan lines and glitch effects characteristic of CRT displays.
Its functionality goes beyond mere display. You can actually play the in-game mini-game Atomic Command, and it features a rear flashlight, headphone jack, and alarm clock mode.
