To celebrate the launch of its Soundlink Plus portable speaker in a new color, "Citrus Yellow," Bose has created a unique influencer kit. Rather than a typical speaker box, the package is designed to look like a butter wrapper you might find in your kitchen.
The kit was designed by creative agency CNC, and it utilizes the SoundLink Plus's rectangular shape to resemble a block of butter. The exterior features a soft cream-colored wrapper with blue graduated side details, reminiscent of a real butter wrapper. The design evokes a familiar and warm emotion for consumers, which translates into a strategy that transforms the product beyond just an electronic gadget into an everyday sentimental item.
Butter yellow has emerged as one of the hottest colors of 2025. It burst onto the fashion scene with Louis Vuitton's Spring 2024 collection, and has since spread across interiors and tech products. Trend analysts like WGSN explain that people are looking to warm, soft pastels as a color that can provide comfort in uncertain times.
Voss reflects this in its product design, adding a vibrant citrus yellow to the traditional black and blue dusk. The color is actually a nod to the "butter yellow" trend, which is an attempt to freshen up tech products with emotional colors.
Unfortunately, the CNC-made Butter Kit is not available to the general consumer, as it was created as a limited number of influencer kits and not for general sale. However, the Soundlink Plus speaker in that color is available for purchase through Bose's official website.
