"Ink & The City," an exhibition held as part of the Hong Kong International Airport Arts and Culture Festival, explores the theme of "Calligraphy in Urban Life." It highlights the diverse calligraphy culture (applied calligraphy) commonly used in Hong Kong from the 1930s to the 1990s, including shop signs, movie posters, advertisements, and business cards. The exhibition features a variety of elements, including multimedia, innovative printing techniques, and interactive design. Visitors can even create their own postcards with Hong Kong-style calligraphy stamps.
Fafa Motion is a 2D motion designer with six years of experience, currently working full-time at Flatwhitemotion, a studio based in Qingdao, China, and Sydney, Australia. Drawing inspiration from Chinese Taoist philosophy, he visually embodies the "balance of movement and stillness," pursuing an emotional motion style that simultaneously engages both the senses and visual perception. He primarily uses Cavalry, a vector-based motion tool, combining parametric control and various effects, and occasionally employs After Effects for a more animator-oriented approach. His signature project, "Color Fusion," featured animation experiments with gradients and blending modes, and he collaborated with music director Vincent Gaudas to deliver a striking result infused with a retro-futuristic and sci-fi sensibility.
