This is the branding for the Dallas Trinity, the first women's soccer team in Dallas, Texas. We collaborated with ModestWorks, a Dallas, Texas-based design studio.
Dallas Trinity is named after the Trinity River, which runs from northwest to southeast. The river has been a link since the city was founded in 1841, and its quiet strength reflects the practical and pioneering spirit of the citizens of Dallas.
The iconic red neon Pegasus has been atop the Magnolia Oil Building in downtown Dallas since the 1930s. The icon, which comes from Greek mythology, has been reinterpreted in the team emblem, symbolizing the never-say-die spirit of Dallas, whether you call it grit, entrepreneurship, or just plain stubbornness.
The visual identity is inspired by the team’s first home stadium, the historic Cotton Bowl. Located in Fair Park, east of downtown, the stadium is surrounded by some of the world’s most iconic Art Deco architecture. We designed a custom typeface that reflects the bold, classic form of the lettering on the iconic buildings.
