The Musinsa PC website is back. It will be effective from 9:00 AM on March 31, 2025. In early June 2024, Musinsa changed its desktop web page service to the same form as its mobile web service. In order to unify the experience regardless of platform, the existing desktop experience was completely removed and the mobile screen was duplicated.
The Musinsa desktop was a collection of debts. Numerous menus and promotions were tangled, making the information structure complex, and the product description area was overflowing with information. PHP, a development language widely used in the past, was not compatible with Java and React, which were mainly used in apps, so management costs were increasing day by day. At the time, the decision to unify to mobile was said to be an acceptable choice from the company's perspective.
The exact reason for the change is unknown, but Musinsa's choice for a better user experience is noteworthy. The UX of mobile devices using fingers and desktops using a mouse are bound to be different, but it is not easy to design a user experience optimized for each platform. I think Musinsa's choice to invest in a better customer experience, even if it costs a little more, is wise.
