Flipboard Surf, a collection of SNS in one place

Flipboard has released a beta of a new app called Surf. It’s an app that lets you see a ton of social media in one place. It pulls information from a variety of social networks, including ActivityPub, AT Proto, and RSS, to create personalized feeds. You can create feeds based on topics, people, and hashtags that interest you, and share them with other users.

Surf breaks away from the closed structure of traditional social media and focuses on the open social web. It is designed to enjoy various types of content in one feed, so you can create fan communities or gather information on specific topics by integrating content from people active on Blue Sky, Mastodon, Thread, etc.

When creating a feed, you can easily filter and manage the feed by setting a topic and excluding unwanted profiles or hashtags. The feed is displayed in different formats, and you can enjoy various media such as text, images, and videos at the same time.

Flipboard CEO Mike McCue calls Surf “the first browser for the social web,” and is confident that Surf will be a key tool for integrating various social platforms and content in the future. Surf is currently available to beta testers, with more users joining soon.
