An exhibition was held by Hypnosis, a legend of graphic design in the 1960s. The name ‘Hipnosis’ is a combination of ‘hip’ meaning fashion and ‘gnosis’ meaning knowledge. It is famous for its surreal images created in collaboration with famous singers such as Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin, 10cc, and Pink Floyd. It became legendary for its innovative graphics in a time when there was no Photoshop. I also thought that it was an art that was only possible because it was from that era.
Collaboration between rebellious and artistic creative groups always seems interesting. It was fun to look at the story behind the creation of the legendary LP cover and the unreleased design as explained by Hipnosis co-founder Aubrey Powell.
I recommend visiting if you are a graphic designer or LP collector who loves music.
