Slack has unveiled new AI features. Slack is a tool used by companies and is a service where an enormous amount of text is exchanged every day. It is one of the services where text-based AI technology can have the greatest impact. Slack AI makes it easy to organize countless conversations with colleagues at work and posts written in public spaces. Pilot testing showed that Slack AI saved an average of 97 minutes per user per week.
“New AI capabilities give customers access to the collective knowledge inside Slack,” said Slack CEO Dennis Dresser. Work smarter, move faster, and focus on true innovation and growth. “In the era of generative AI, Slack is an interactive platform that connects all parts of your business to maximize team productivity.”
Search for answers
You can get a concise, condensed answer by quoting directly from the relevant Slack message. When you ask about a new project, you can quickly find project goals and relevant stakeholders. It organizes the content based on conversations in public channels and private conversations. Even if you don't know anything, you can ask questions as if you were asking a colleague who has worked at the company the longest.
Channel, thread summary
Create key highlights from any channel. You can organize unread messages and summarize the last 7 days. A thread summary summarizes the main points of a long conversation and cites sources.
AI infrastructure
Slack AI runs within your infrastructure and does not use customer data to train large-scale language models. Slack doesn't have AI built-in by default, and you can add a variety of custom AI apps. You can use functions from Notion or Asana, and a function to subscribe to specific topics and automatically share them on Slack is also scheduled to be released.
