We estimated Korean Android and iOS app usage based on data from January to November 2023. Based on data from WiseApp, we have briefly summarized mobile apps in 2023. Three apps that showed outstanding performance in each category were marked as Top, and noteworthy mobile apps were marked as Check.
Apps most used by Koreans
The most loved service is definitely KakaoTalk. However, YouTube is close behind with an average monthly user base of about 1 million, and the number of users is growing even higher, so the number of YouTube users may increase further next year. The rapid growth of Naver Maps is also surprising. It is noticeable that the number of community services such as Naver Band and Carrot has decreased, and the increase in the number of Toss users is noticeable.
Apps that grew the most in a year
Recently, there has been a big change with the emergence of Chinese services. The growth of Ali Express and Temu is scary. Two Chinese services grew the fastest, beating growth icon Toss. The emergence of High Class, an elementary school learning communication app, is also interesting, and the emergence of Always, which has been a hot topic for gamification, is also noteworthy.
