iOS17 usability update: quick and easy before you even turn it on

At WWDC23, details about the new iOS 17 were revealed. We have released a variety of features that allow you to use the main features of various apps faster and more conveniently. We've rounded up some of the impressive changes that will be coming soon.

Widget & Activity

You can display the progress of various activities in your app. They can be displayed as widgets and dynamic islands. Appears on iPhone StandBy, iPad lock screen, Mac desktop.

App Shortcut

You can display frequently used functions in apps through Spotlight and Siri. We also shared how to design shortcuts so that they appear as popular items in Spotlight. You can customize the visual appearance of your shortcuts.

Tip Kit TipKit

It provides a function that informs users how to use it. Design onboarding, tutorial experiences. You can control where and when they are exposed. You can make them open according to specific rules.

Animated Symbols

SF Symbols are moving. You can see the animation in the SF Symbols app on macOS. Symbols are customizable and can be applied in multiple colors. You can add different versions, such as a version with the icon inside a circle, a version with a circle outside it, and a version with a slash through it.

Other useful improvements

You can search for recipes by tapping a food item in the image.
Extended image cutout function
Recognizes pets as people in photos.
New drawing tools such as Freeform watercolor brushes, calligraphy pens, highlighters, variable width pens, and rulers.
Apply nude filter to naked photos and videos. A pop-up will appear asking if you want to view sensitive photos.
Mail app supports auto-filling of one-time verification codes. You can also automatically delete your verification code.
A pronoun field is added to Contacts.
We provide new wallpapers.

Shareplay can respond to Now playing songs
Introduction of crossfade option
Words have also been introduced to Apple News.

It is full of useful and convenient features. Previously, we focused on creating an environment where you can focus only on a specific app by providing modes tailored to various contexts, but this time we focus on the most important flow in the existing user experience to provide you with the fastest way to use features. I think there is no end to usability improvement.
