Airbnb has released a summer 2023 update. We introduced more than 50 new features, including several features that allow you to communicate more closely with hosts, such as 'Airbnb rooms' for renting private rooms.
👁️ Designer Eye
The Host Profile card is the most prominent. Click the large highlighted host profile card to view information about the host. When you press the slightly tilted profile book, the pages unfold smoothly. It's like opening a note on a table in a hotel. The jokes like 'useless talent' written on the card are funny.
The introduction of features is also seamless. I like the experience of explaining how the product experience has changed, like an annual event. The UI for setting monthly experiences was surprising and touching. The forgotten beauty of the expression itself and the joy of using it are included.
📕 Editor's Notes
It is also an update that makes you feel again that Airbnb is a design-centric company. Especially this time, I was able to feel the 'pleasure of use'. Delivering the pleasure of using while maintaining uncomplicated usage patterns is not something that any company can do. Just as simplicity doesn't mean that there is nothing, a good UX is to experience 'good things'. The usefulness of reserving a good accommodation with a reliable host, the usability of making a reservation with a few taps with a simple pattern, the aesthetics of graphics and smooth interactions that leave only the essentials. Airbnb shows the standard of UX!
