After Figma was acquired by Adobe for $20 billion, Collins created the 'Nothing Great is made alone' brand campaign. It is a message befitting a company that has grown through collaboration and connects with the spirit of challenging design. It started as the first web-based design tool and proposed a way for people to collaborate.
The strength of teamwork is emphasized by dismantling the Mona Lisa, a symbol of solitary genius. The best ideas come from the creative power of teamwork, revealing that great things cannot be created alone and how non-designers can contribute to great design ideas.
Figma realized that the company was leaving a lot of creativity on the table because designers only use it when diverse teams need to collaborate from an initial idea to a finished product. Clearly, the design community loved Figma, so I wanted an idea that would keep developers, writers, producers, and admins loving them while letting them know that Figma encourages them all to work together and do better. But the story is bigger than looking at collaboration as a 'feature'. 'Nothing Great is Made Alone' is a POV about creativity and collaboration. They say that great ideas have always arisen and will always happen when a diverse group of people freely create together.
Collins VP & Creative Director Tom Elia said:
It is a brand campaign that intensely expresses the keywords of Figma's collaboration and design. Ideas are shared every day, and the moments when new ideas are born are reflected in the graphic output. It is also cool to use motion to add persuasiveness to graphic motifs.
