This is the new iPad Mini unveiled by Apple on October 26. As of October 27, it is the most recent new product announcement from Apple Newsroom, featuring a redesigned screen and body structure, and is equipped with the A20 Pro chip.
The screen has been changed to an 8.5-inch OLED. The display area has been expanded by reducing the bezels by 241 TP3T while maintaining the same body area as the previous generation. The maximum brightness is 1,200 nits, and the minimum brightness is 1 nit. A nano-texture display that reduces reflection in bright environments is also available as an option.
The body thickness is 5.4mm. It comes in two colors, Midnight and Starlight, and supports IP67 water and dust resistance. The 12-megapixel front center-stage camera has been moved to the long horizontal edge. This configuration places the camera at the top of the screen when the device is held horizontally.
The sound-producing structure has also changed. The system, which Apple calls the "Acoustic Display," integrates a woofer into the display and hides the tweeter, responsible for high frequencies, between the glass and aluminum exterior. The sealed structure is also used for water and dust resistance.
Along with the A20 Pro, it is equipped with the N1 chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. It supports the Apple Pencil Pro and USB-C Apple Pencil. Storage capacity ranges from 128GB to 512GB. In the US, the Wi-Fi model starts at $699, and pre-orders begin on October 28, with a release on November 6.
