Apple announced that it has added the iPhone 17e to the iPhone 17 lineup on March 2, 2026. The company conveyed the message that it intends to strengthen the presence of its value models by highlighting faster performance, an advanced camera system, enhanced durability, MagSafe support, and 256GB of base storage.
The iPhone 17e is equipped with the latest generation A19 chip. Apple explained that by incorporating its proprietary C1X cellular modem, it provides speeds up to twice as fast as the previous generation C1. It is being evaluated as a configuration that has upgraded key components to ensure that performance enhancements translate into a tangible user experience.
The camera system is centered around a 48MP Fusion Camera. It supports 4K Dolby Vision video recording and offers 2x optical telephoto capabilities, designed to perform two roles with a single camera. Apple emphasized that it has also taken portrait photo quality to the next level.
The display features a 15.4cm Super Retina XDR. It was stated that the front uses Ceramic Shield 2, which has tripled scratch resistance compared to the previous generation and reduced glare. In essence, durability has been refined to reduce scratch stress during everyday use.
A notable change in this model is the return of MagSafe. It supports fast wireless charging and brings back the usage flow that integrates with the ecosystem of magnet-based accessories, such as chargers and cases. It was announced that wired charging supports USB-C.
Base storage starts at 256GB. Apple explained that it doubled the base storage capacity compared to the previous generation while maintaining the base price. It was announced that the domestic price starts at 990,000 won.
The launch colors are Black, White, and Soft Pink. It was introduced as featuring a luxurious matte finish. Pre-orders will begin on March 4, and the official launch is scheduled for March 11.
