A concept design envisioning a collaboration between the French luxury brand Hermès and the Italian coffee brand Bialetti is garnering attention online. The Hermès x Bialetti Moka Pot set, unveiled by designer Jane Morelli, is not an actual product yet, but it is drawing attention for its high-quality design and storytelling.
This concept was designed to commemorate the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Zodiac. As a brand that originated from a saddle and harness workshop, the horse has always been at the center of Hermès' identity. The carriage logo also symbolizes this origin. This is combined with the octagonal silhouette of the Moka Express, introduced by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933. The Moka pot is regarded as an iconic object that transformed home coffee culture.
Morelli has infused Hermès's craftsmanship while maintaining Bialetti's distinctive structure. A cream-colored horse silhouette is added to the burgundy-orange body. A three-dimensional horse figurine replaces the lid handle, reinforcing the sculptural symbolism. The handle is finished in a cognac brown tone, evoking leather craftsmanship.
The espresso cup also features a horse head-shaped handle and a undulating tail line. The base is crafted in the shape of a horseshoe and designed so that a spoon rests in the groove. All elements are organically connected under the motif of the horse.
The packaging is also eye-catching. The collaboration name is engraved inside a walnut wood box finished with cream fabric. The unboxing experience itself is structured like a ritual.
