iRiver has released the Prism iFP-10, a new product that reinterprets the nostalgic MP3 player with a modern twist. Based on the iFP-100 series, which once dominated the domestic MP3 player market, this revival model retains the design sensibility of the past while also offering features tailored to today's needs.
The Prism iFP-10 emphasizes portability with its lightweight 37g weight. Its 64GB storage capacity provides ample storage for music files, and its color LCD display enhances ease of use. The battery provides up to 24 hours of continuous playback, providing ample battery life for everyday use.
The functional configuration has also been improved to keep pace with the times. The inclusion of a USB Type-C port simplifies charging and audio transfer. Bluetooth 5.0 support allows for wireless earphone connectivity, and a wired port is also provided to accommodate a variety of listening environments. The FM radio and voice recording features, which were a hallmark of the iFP series in the past, are also retained.
This product is interpreted as more than a simple revival; it's an attempt to extend the brand's retro heritage into a contemporary consumer experience. Earlier this year, iRiver collaborated with SM Entertainment on the Prism Project, launching a retro-focused product that sought to re-establish its brand. The Prism iFP-10 continues this trend, offering a standalone music listening device in an environment where digital music consumption methods are diversifying.
The Prism iFP-10 is available in two colors: white and blue-gray. It is priced at 129,000 won.
