Mechanical keyboard specialist Keychron has unveiled the world's first all-ceramic keyboard, the Q16 HE 8K. This product features a ceramic body and keycaps, delivering a luxurious feel and unique typing sound, making a refreshing impact on the mechanical keyboard market.
The Q16 HE 8K emphasizes a sense of luxury by utilizing the cool yet smooth texture of ceramic material, and is equipped with the company's custom linear switch with 'magnetic induction (TMR)' to improve the accuracy and response speed of key input. This TMR sensor can detect sensitivity up to 0.01mm, and you can set individual input depth and actuation distance for each key.
The exterior is designed with a 65 percent layout, ensuring plenty of mouse space while still retaining essential keys. The ceramic keycaps are based on the Cherry profile, offering a three-dimensional design and a smooth feel. Available in two colors, "Thetacyan Blue" and "Mint White," the glossy finish unique to ceramic adds visual appeal.
The Q16 HE 8K boasts an 8000Hz polling rate, delivering input responsiveness eight times faster than standard gaming keyboards. Keychron emphasized that they achieved a perfect balance between materials and technology, based on the philosophy that "a true luxury keyboard should be a desk-worthy object with a fast and accurate typing feel."
The product is currently available for pre-order on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, with an early bird price of $219.99. The official retail price is $229.99, and shipping is scheduled to begin in December 2025. Targeted at keyboard enthusiasts and design-conscious users, this product is a new type of high-end input device that pursues both typing feel and value as an object.
