LG Electronics has launched "Easy TV," a smart TV tailored for seniors. Developed for seniors who struggle with complex functions and operations, this product offers a more intuitive user experience with a simplified home screen, a redesigned remote control, and medication reminders.
The Easy TV is based on LG's Mini LED 4K Smart TV, the QNED Evo QNED85A, and will initially be available in Korea only in two sizes: 65-inch and 75-inch. The 65-inch model is priced at 2,769,000 won, and the 75-inch model at 3,869,000 won. LG plans to expand the product to countries with rapidly aging populations, such as the United States.
The most notable feature is the simplified user interface. The home screen features large text and a limited selection of apps, and screen brightness and voice clarity have been adjusted to suit older adults. The TV also features a built-in camera for video calls, making it easy to connect with children and family, as well as receive technical support.
Lifestyle-focused features also stand out. You can set pop-up reminders for routine tasks like taking medication or watering plants at scheduled times, providing practical assistance to seniors living alone.
The remote control has also been improved. While it features larger fonts and a more streamlined layout, it still has a considerable number of buttons. The remote also features a "Help" button and an AI voice search button, allowing you to contact family in an emergency or return to the previous screen if you accidentally change the input.
