External hard drive that resembles a Mac folder icon

The iconic macOS folder icon has become a reality. Created by designer David Delahunty and design studio Super Fantastic, the FolderDrive is a 128GB USB-C flash drive that replicates the look and feel of the classic macOS folder.

FolderDrive, currently in development, is a plug-and-play portable storage device that will be released soon, with a limited initial run of 100 units. It is 3D printed and hand-finished, and is expected to be a product that combines collectible value and practicality.

FolderDrive is compact, measuring approximately 8.2cm wide, 6.3cm high, and 1.3cm thick, and has been carefully designed to replicate the colors and three-dimensionality of the existing macOS folder icon. Delahunty has announced that it will be released in various colors in addition to the default light blue.

In terms of performance, it offers fast read and write speeds based on SSD, and it has a built-in USB-C port so it can be used right away on various devices such as MacBooks, iPads, and Windows PCs without a separate adapter. The price has not yet been set.

Super Fantastic describes this product as the perfect gift for designers, developers, and tech fans who love retro sensibilities. It is not only practical for business backup, client file storage, and portable storage of media libraries, but also as a desk accessory that adds personality to your desk.
