KakaoKakao Map, operated by Kakao, has introduced a new 'ultra-precision subway service' that intuitively displays real-time subway location information on the map. Kakao announced that it officially opened the function on June 9 and began the service for a total of 23 major lines in the metropolitan area and Busan.
This service is designed to be easily accessible to users of the metropolitan area, including Seoul Subway Line 19 (excluding some sections), Airport Railroad, Suin-Bundang Line, Shinbundang Line, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, GTX-A, and even Busan Line 14.
Users can check the location of the currently operating train in real time by zooming in on the subway tracks on Kakao Map. Clicking on a train visually displays the direction to the next station and the remaining time until arrival, and the 'View Train Location' button on the individual station information screen allows users to check information on trains entering the station.
For this function, Kakao analyzes subway operation information in real time and applies visualization technology to provide users with an intuitive movement flow. To use the service, you must update the Kakao Map app to the latest version (6.3.0), and the update is supported for both iOS and Android versions.
