Creator Platform Paytrion 2025 Creator Report

Creator platform 'Patreon' has published its 2025 creator report 'State of Create 2025'.

The digital age offers more opportunities for creators, as anyone can create, share, and monetize content. However, creators are also facing unprecedented obstacles. The most common problems are changes in SNS platform algorithms, unstable revenue structures, and disconnection from fans.

The report notes that it’s becoming increasingly difficult for creators to reach their existing fans as social media platforms shift away from a “follow”-based structure and instead focus on recommendation algorithms to build feeds. In fact, much of the content fans consume on TikTok and elsewhere comes from creators they don’t follow.

This environment is prioritizing short, stimulating content. Fans are watching more short videos, but they actually find long-form content valuable. The strategy of platforms and the direction of creators are at odds, as long-form content is also more profitable.

The report diagnosed that creators are being forced into content types by algorithms and losing the essence of creation under constant pressure to produce. More than half of creators responded that they are experiencing burnout and that the platform is penalizing users who do not post consistently.

Nevertheless, creators are hopeful. This is because values are shifting toward direct relationships with fans and toward long-term stability over short-term figures. In particular, as the recognition that core fans play a critical role in creators’ earnings and community maintenance spreads, creators are focusing on deep connections with fans rather than simple follower counts.
