Invites, Apple's invitation app

Apple has released a new invitation app called 'Apple Invites' that can be used on iPhones with iOS 18 or later. Users can plan meetings and create invitations. Only Apple's iCloud+ subscribers can create invitations, and those who do not use Apple services can also receive invitations via the web.

Apple Invites lets users create invitations by selecting images from their photo library or using backgrounds provided by the app. Maps and weather integration lets attendees see the event location and weather forecast. Invitees can upload photos and videos via shared albums, and Apple Music subscribers can add a shared playlist for the event.

When creating an invitation, you can use the 'Image Playground' feature to create AI-based images, and you can also refine the invitation text using the writing tool of 'Apple Intelligence'.

Hosts can share invitation links, manage attendance, and show or hide certain information in the invitation preview screen. Guests can respond to invitations and choose how their information is displayed. They can also report or leave unwanted invitations.

With this launch, Apple competes directly with existing invitation services such as Partiful, which has gained popularity among young people since its launch in 2020 and was named the best app on Google Play in 2024. Partyful has claimed that Apple Invites is a copycat of its service.

Apple InVites is available for free download from the App Store and is also available on the web.
