Next rebranding, everything from logo to app changed after 9 years

Kakao is completely reorganizing the Daum portal application for the first time in nine years. This reorganization is being carried out with the aim of establishing Daum as a comprehensive content platform. The update will be carried out sequentially from January 13 to 19.

The newly revamped Daum app will have four tabs at the bottom: Home, Content, Community, and Shopping. The Home tab provides lifestyle-related information such as weather, stock market, fortune, and latest issues. The Content tab provides a variety of specialized content such as news from media outlets, Daum channels, shopping, and automobiles, as well as short-form and long-form content. The Community tab is designed as a space for users to interact. The Shopping tab provides recommended products and events, and you can also receive Kakao Pay point accumulation benefits through Benefit Plus.

Next, we plan to gradually update the app this year with the goal of strengthening AI-based personalized services. Additional updates to improve user experience, such as the introduction of a short-form tab at the bottom, are also planned.

Along with the reorganization, Daum has unveiled a logo that reflects its new brand identity. The dark blue logo, which integrates the existing brand colors, symbolizes the convergence of diverse content and user opinions.

Yang Ju-il, CEO of Kakao Content CIC, said that the app has been revamped to allow users to easily enjoy a variety of content. In addition, Daum plans to focus on supporting the growth of individual creators and content partners and providing enjoyment to users.
