Design platform Figma has revealed major updates it has made together with its community as 2024 draws to a close. Under the slogan, “We shipped it, You shaped it,” it has introduced various changes that actively reflect user feedback.
Figma has built a collaborative, creative environment by engaging with users through 220+ global communities and 500+ events this year. In particular, programs such as FigJam template sharing have encouraged collaboration within the community and improved user experience.
1. Introduction of UI3
UI3 is an update that dramatically improves work speed and usability. The design environment has been streamlined with the return of fixed panels, intuitive horizontal scrolling, and a redesigned toolbar. These changes are in response to community requests, providing a customized work experience.
2. AI-based productivity tools
The introduction of AI technology has added features such as visual search, smart text generation, background removal, and image creation, reducing repetitive tasks, automating workflows, and improving designer productivity.
3. Launch of 'Figma Slides'
Figma Slides is a new tool built on data from approximately 3.5 million presentations. It effectively supports collaboration and interaction between teams, including smart templates and real-time editing functions.
4. Dev Mode Extension
New features in Dev Mode, including annotations and VS Code extensions, are designed to enhance collaboration between developers and designers, reducing the barriers between development and design, increasing efficiency.
“Building on our 2024 achievements, we will continue our user-centric innovation in 2025,” a Figma representative said.
