The AI-based boxing coach 'Growl' has been released. It is a wall-mounted boxing trainer that analyzes the user's movements in real time and provides feedback through various sensors and 3D cameras. A life-size virtual coach appears using a projector, and you can train by directly interacting with the virtual coach.
Growl precisely tracks your movements using 'time-of-flight' sensors and infrared lasers. Each time you hit the punching bag, the sensors measure the intensity and accuracy of the impact, analyze your posture, and provide immediate corrections. AI monitors your fatigue and exercise status in real time to provide personalized training.
Leo Deslumo, co-founder and CEO of Growl, said the product aims to completely change the concept of the traditional punching bag. He explained that while existing digital fitness devices like Peloton or Tonal are developed by adding content to the hardware, Growl is designed to replicate the experience of a coach.
Get an immersive workout experience at home with a high-intensity boxing gym workout. The surface of the punching bag is made of leather and foam, making it durable and protecting your expensive equipment while providing resistance similar to real punching.
The price is expected to be around $4,500, and a subscription fee of $150 per month will provide various content and real-time feedback. Pre-orders will begin in April 2025, and the first product launch is scheduled for 2026.
