CyberCap: Tesla's Driverless Autonomous Taxi

Tesla has unveiled its autonomous taxi, the Cybercab. At the “We, Robot” event, Tesla also unveiled a prototype robotaxi, the Cybercab, and a prototype RoboVan that can carry up to 20 people. Tesla allowed event attendees to drive around in the Warner Bros. lot.

The overall appearance is a combination of Cybertruck and Model 3. It looks like it was carved out of a large block of metal. There are only windows in the front and side where people can see, and no windows on the top and back. It opens upwards like butterfly wings. There are two seats inside. There is no steering wheel or pedals in the driver's seat. It charges wirelessly without a charging plug.

It is designed to be optimized for entertainment while the rider is in motion. He also said that when he is not using the car, he can share the car and make money like Uber. In the future, Tesla will compete directly with Uber, Bolt, and Weibo.

Musk says it will be 10 to 20 times safer than human drivers and will cost about 20 cents per mile, compared to $1 per mile for city buses. He plans to launch fully autonomous vehicles in Texas and California next year, 2025. He says the CyberCap could be in production by 2026 and on the market by 2027. It is estimated to cost $30,000.
