One of the attractions of the Paris Olympics is that the games are held in historic locations, especially the beach volleyball event held right in front of one of the world's most famous buildings, the Eiffel Tower.
Beautifully designed stadiums provide great inspiration, including horseback riding at the Palace of Versailles, beautiful pastel-colored skateboarding at the Place de la Concorde, and fencing at the Grand Palais, the former home of the World's Fair.
I think the Olympics are the event where you can see the most stories of athletes overcoming difficulties and taking on challenges, as well as photos of decisive moments. Interest in the Olympics itself may have waned, but the stories of the countries and people who participated are still powerful.
