Next-generation CarPlay design system: Customized for your brand.

Apple shared its new next-generation CarPlay design system. It shows how car brands can use the CarPlay design system while maintaining their own design.

It can be applied to automotive displays in various environments. Regardless of the number, width, or size of the display, it can be freely configured on a component basis.

The instrument panel, which can be said to be the core of car control, is particularly meticulous. Numbers expressing car status use Apple's representative font, SF. The San Francisco font is a variable font, meaning you can use it in as many different forms as you like. It is natural to adjust the thickness, and narrow and high shapes as well as low and wide shapes can be used.

Gauges can also be freely customized. You can freely choose the shape of a semicircle, circle, or solid circle. The end of the gauge can be rounded or sharpened. Steps can be expressed using solid colors or gradients. You can also set it to a traditional-looking instrument panel. It feels like setting up an Apple Watch. Can Apple take a dominant position as an operating system in automobiles as well?
