22nd National Assembly Election: How does the experience differ by service?

The 22nd National Assembly election is already D-2. The early voting turnout was recorded at 31.27%, the highest voting rate ever since the early voting system was introduced for the general election. On the 6th, the National Election Commission announced that 13,849,043 of the total 44,280,011 voters participated. It seems that elections have become a responsibility that must be fulfilled rather than an annoying duty.

This advance voting was conducted at 3,565 advance voting locations nationwide from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 5th and 6th. You can now vote at any polling place as long as you have an ID. I managed to vote because I found out an hour before it closed that I could vote on Saturday as well. It occurred to me that Korea was also a country with an efficient and developing administration.

I suddenly wondered what people's voting experience would be like. So today, we briefly compared how Naver, Daum, and Carrot, which have a big impact on local life, provide voting-related information.

Naver announces elections in specific sentences. It prominently places questions that users might be curious about and provides specific guidance on what to do. Encourage users who do not have a region registered to register a region.

Next, the general election is not highlighted on the first screen, but is listed as one of several tabs. When you click on the tab, there is an image banner and election-related articles are placed at the bottom. Clicking the banner takes you to the general election webpage.

Like a post, Carrot explains general election-related information in sentences. Since the region has already been registered, there is no need for the user to take any action. We've also provided the general election as a list filter and added a red dot to indicate there's a new post.

Naver mainly combines keyword search results so that the articles are similar to regular keyword searches. Certain keywords may result in content unrelated to this general election. Next, I think I created a separate page for the general election and placed the appropriate theme directly on it. Overall, I feel like they made an effort to provide as much relevant information as possible. Carrot simply provides only the information needed to conduct advance voting and main voting, rather than various information for making judgments.

Naver Map provides a button to find your polling place when you search for a polling place. Guidance for specific next actions was written in a long text. Kakao described the filter in the map as a ‘main polling station.’ So, are there also ‘sub-polling stations’? I'm a little confused as to what it means. The map does not show information related to voting.

As I looked around at various services, what was impressive was the graphics that made an effort not to focus on any one color. Naver expressed red and blue in a gradient so that it does not feel like a specific color. Next I used a neutral purple color. The carrots didn't use any color at all. What I remember most is the National Election Commission. The slightly bizarre-looking rainbow-colored characters are powerful.

This Wednesday is the 22nd National Assembly general election. Please make sure to participate in voting and fulfill your duty and rights as a citizen.
