Kakao has released ‘Mini Emoticons’. Mini emoticons are small emoticons that can be combined with letters in a speech bubble to express various messages. You can also combine multiple emojis to describe different situations or emotions. For example, you can combine Chun-sik's face and body to depict him running or his body elongating. When used alone, it appears enlarged and displayed like a traditional emoticon.

A total of three types of mini emoticons have been released, including ‘Chunsik’s Day’, ‘Pink Pink Apeach’, and ‘Mini Stationery’. You can download it to KakaoTalk through the promotion page and use it for free for life.

‘Chunsik’s Day’ is an emoticon that allows users to express their daily lives. It consists of a face depicting facial expressions, a body expressing movement, and familiar objects or symbols. Animation is applied to most elements to express various movements.

'Pink Pink Apeach' is a soft candy-like emoticon that gives off a fantastic feeling. It is made up of lovely elements that express special events, such as unicorns, magic wands, dolls, and balloons, all made up of pink elements.

‘Mini Stationery’ represents objects frequently used in various phrases and emoticons. The outline is expressed as a non-emphasized surface. The slightly rough surface makes it feel like a real sticker.

You can switch to mini emoticons by pressing the toggle button at the top left of the keyboard in the chat window. In the future, they plan to introduce a variety of mini emoticons by reviewing their marketability and usability.

The chatting experience, which is the biggest attraction of KakaoTalk, has evolved to the next level.

It feels like using stickers used to decorate a diary. It also reminds me of the grainy GIFs used to decorate Cyworld in the 2000s. It's a truly 'Korean' experience. I think it will be similar to the emoji experience of global services such as Apple and Google that are used in various environments.

KakaoTalk is a representative service that has received great love for its experience of excellently expressing emotions and messages through images. Recently, the parent company and group have been noisy in many ways, but I think KakaoTalk's experience design, which provides a great experience as a national app in the smartphone era, is 'as expected'.
