Yeonnam-dong, their own sparkling dreams 2 – Restaurant

Yeonnam-dong has plenty of Instagram-worthy spots, but there are plenty of restaurants with amazing and delicious meals to suit all tastes.

From entrance to dining attire. People who are serious about taste seem to have no choice but to taste everything they touch. Many places reinterpret standard menus in their own way or introduce creative new recipes, so I look forward to dining on the weekend.

Sunny days, rainy days, moody days. It is a great fortune to have a place that immediately comes to mind according to the mood. We gathered the number 1 restaurant in our hearts.

Somemore Deli

This is the place to go for a creative brunch. This is where I often went for a light jog and brunch on the weekends. Brunch may sound light, but the first time I ate Somemore's menu, it was a taste revolution itself. It's a menu name I've never heard of, but the taste is so advanced that I can't understand it, but the creative taste that surprises me is a wonderful place. The main cafe is located in Incheon, and the Songdo branch is also expanding. It is located in Kkeomnam-dong at the end of Yeontral Park. Olive Cream Cheese Mushrooms and Orange Marmalade French Toast are highly recommended.

  • Hours: 11:00 ~ 19:00 (closed on Mondays, last order at 18:00)

fan and pot

This is a place where wine and snacks create the best combination. It is a restaurant where the whole is delicately harmonized with a comfortable nuanced interior and moderate taste. There is one menu for each ingredient that would be good to eat with wine, such as asparagus, octopus, steak, confit, and pasta. Of course, each one is impressively delicious. Depending on your mood, there are plenty of menus that go well with red or white wine, so you can choose what you like. We recommend the asparagus and romesco grilled octopus with dill oil and feta cheese.

  • Address: #102, 1st Floor, 15 Yeonnam-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul
  • Hours: Mon-Thu 17:00 ~ 24:00, Fri, Sat 17:00 ~ 01:00 (closed on Sundays, last order at 23:00)

pesto pesto

This is a pesto restaurant hidden in an alley. I was led by a signboard proudly proclaiming that I am here. I was wondering what kind of fun store it would be, but it was a hidden gem that presents flavors that are hard to find elsewhere. Instead of grinding them in a blender, they grind the various grasses themselves to make the sauce. Menus such as sandwiches and pizzas are also sold separately. When I first learned about pesto pesto, I remember that there were no baguettes left. Each pesto is unique and intense, so if you visit, I recommend buying two pestos each.

  • Address: 1F, 23-6 Heeujeong-ro 16-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul
  • Hours: 11:30 ~ 21:00 (closed on Mondays, last order at 20:00)

Okja

Okja always comes to mind on a rainy day. No, it's just a place to go when you think of warm soup. This is a delicious place with a menu that changes the Vietnamese rice noodles to suit your taste. If you order assorted rice noodles, you can eat a lot of light brisket and soft chadol, and if you order red rice noodles, you can enjoy the spicy taste of Cheongyang pepper style. The soup is awesome, but the bibimjang is insanely delicious. The taste that makes me salivate even as I write this. It is located in the inner alley past the alley where the concafe is located.

  • Address: 1F, 40-15 Seongmisan-ro 29-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul
  • Hours: 11:00 ~ 21:00 (15:00 ~17:00 break time, 14:30, 20:30 last order, fixed closing)

Wu-Tang

The king of Galbitang. This is a place that taught me what beef soup is and what delicious rice is. The soft yet chewy taste of the best beef ribs, the deep and rich broth, and the slightly sticky yet chewy rice are harmonious, making you forget what else to say. I vividly remember that when I sat down, it was difficult to talk because I was too busy eating. It's a place where you can see what experiences are possible if you make the basics insanely high quality. Yangji gomtang runs out quickly, so if you want to eat it, come early!

  • Address: 115 Seongmisan-ro 17-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul
  • Hours: 11:30 ~ 21:00 (15:00 ~17:00 break time, 14:30, 20:30 last order, closed on Tuesdays)

salsa

It's like visiting a real Mexican store. Already from the store description, it is said to be a Mexican 'local' restaurant. Salsa verde and chipotle are said to be made with local ingredients, not made in a factory. The taste is as good as the extraordinary sincerity. It is recommended to eat plenty of tacos with the Sali set. Drinks such as horchata and atole are also full of local flavor.

  • Address: 1st floor, 22 Yanghwa-ro 11-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul
  • Time: 11:30 ~ 22:00 (last order at 21:00)

Indian Grill

If you want to eat curry, this is the place! The moment you enter the store, it is a different place from the aroma and flavor. If you eat sunflower seeds, the basic dish, like a squirrel, you'll find curry served in an Indian-style bowl. The carefully grilled naan is evenly soaked in garlic or butter, so you can experience a fantastic experience when eating it with curry. I always ordered curry and naan alone, so I ordered cumin rice and ate it. Cumin rice is different from other rice or fried rice in Korea, so it was two bowls of curry.
