Several media are predicting that Google will unveil a new device. Expect to hear about the Pixel 7A, a cheaper version of the Pixel 7, the Pixel tablet, and the upcoming Pixel 8. We also look forward to the new version of Android 14.
The I/O webpage exhibits a Google-like tone and manner. Uses a graphic style with an emphasis on outlines. The smooth motion that conveys a pleasant atmosphere naturally is attractive. In this I/O, we introduce the vision of Material You. Motion features, new color customization features, updates to the Flutter library, and more, the story is ready. We will also share how to apply Material U when creating Android apps using Jetpack Compose, a development tool released by Google in 2018.
Editor's Note
It is expected that this will be an AI-driven announcement. We've had a fierce battle with Microsoft, but we haven't noticed a big change in users' search experience yet. I think it's because the search results are limited to text, and it's a dead-end experience that makes it difficult to dig deeper into information.
I am also curious about the process of using Material Design for development. There are many companies that build multiple design systems on their own, but the difficulty of building is higher than expected, so it takes a long time from a simple UI Kit to a complete system linked with development. Can design systems take it to the next level? I'm excited to see what role Material Design can play.
