Google announced an upcoming suite of generative AI features for various Workspace apps including Google Docs, Gmail, Sheets and Slides. I was already using Smart Compse or Smart Reply using AI. Now, using Generative AI, the ability to create and connect like never before is added.

• Docs Brainstorm, Proofread, Write
• Automatic creation of slides images, audio and video
• Automatic spread sheet completion, insight analysis
• Meet meeting transcripts and summaries
• Enabling Workflows to Complete Chat Tasks

Google has captivated people all over the world with its awesome productivity tools. Based on the powerful cash cow of advertising, we have locked in useful tools that people have no choice but to use. The monopoly of e-mail, in particular, is still a powerful force. Threatened by information retrieval with the advent of Generative AI, Google is making its own strengths even stronger. As long as we don't change the way we use the productivity tools we're used to, are there any tools that could threaten Google?

I think it's a move to avoid becoming Kodak, which gave up supremacy as the times changed from film cameras to digital cameras. Google seems to be Google.
