YOYOYO is a virtual brand and product concept created jointly by Google DeepMind and Porto Rocha. This project was conducted to experiment with the extent to which the Nano Banana Pro model can be utilized in actual creative workflows. Going beyond simply generating images, AI was applied to the comprehensive process of building a brand, encompassing everything from product design and branding to packaging, photography, video, and spatial design.
The starting point was the yo-yo product itself. Using the Nano Banana Pro, the team rapidly explored form, materials, balance, and surface texture, refining the product's volume and central structure in the process. Subsequently, during the brand identity phase, they experimented with various symbols, logos, colors, and motion directions to derive a visual language from the yo-yo's movement and structure. Typography and taglines were also quickly explored and refined using AI as an auxiliary tool.
The scope extended to packaging, photography, video, and spatial design. Packaging experimented extensively, ranging from designs resembling fashion accessories to traditional retail packaging, while photography expressed the brand's impression across diverse contexts, including surreal scenes, product shots, and usage scenarios. In the videos, the rotation, rhythm, and movement of the yo-yo itself were treated as core expressive elements, and the offline pop-up store design translated the yo-yo's rounded form and texture into an architectural space.
