Google has unveiled the 'Google Books' laptop line, created in collaboration with Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. The official website introduces the laptops' materials, controls, and features for connecting to Android phones. The starting price in the U.S. is $899.

A notable feature of the Google Book's exterior is the 'Glow Bar' located outside the lid. This light displays the remaining battery level and charging status. It is a design that moves this information to the outside of the device, allowing users to check the status without opening the laptop. The body is constructed from materials such as aluminum, magnesium, and carbon fiber, and its form factor and specifications vary depending on the model. The official website indicates up to 14 hours of battery life and memory starting at 16GB.

The keyboard features a dedicated G key for searching. On the screen, you can move the cursor to summon Gemini and ask questions or make comparisons based on your selections. It also provides a function to organize spoken content into sentences and lists. This approach connects AI functions to frequently used input devices: the keys and the cursor.

Integration with Android phones is also a key aspect of the product design. 'Continue On' allows you to continue tasks started on your phone on the laptop, and 'Cast My Apps' displays phone apps on the laptop screen. 'Quick Access' allows you to find phone files on the laptop. These features require initial setup and a phone running Android 17 or higher. Google Books is a laptop that handles both external device status and on-screen task connectivity.
