A solo exhibition titled 'The Menu' opened at Footnote Gallery in Ghent, Belgium. The exhibition opened on July 17 and runs until August 29. It consists of four sculptural works created for the gallery and its surroundings.
The work begins with the 'canopy' installed at the entrance of a building. While a canopy is an architectural element that blocks rain and sunlight, it is also used at the entrances of shops, restaurants, hotels, and other establishments as a device to convey the character of the place. The exhibition explores how the form and visual language of the canopy communicate the identity of a space and the expectations it creates for visitors before they enter.
Workers from various fields participated in the production of the exhibition. Manor Grunewald invited the artists, and Septian Priyatna was in charge of graphic design. Thomas Min handled welding and photography, Valérie Tack sewing, Ingrid Raymaekers illustration, and Zara Van Den Bergh sign painting. The exhibition is open to the public from Wednesday to Saturday, 2 pm to 7 pm, at the Footnote Gallery located at 125 Sint-Salvatorstraat in Ghent.
