RIMOWA has unveiled a limited-edition 'Dartboard Case' in collaboration with the British dart brand Winmau. Applying RIMOWA's signature aluminum design, well-known for its travel suitcases, to a traditional wall-mounted dartboard cabinet, this project combines precision engineering with sports equipment. It is drawing attention for expanding the brand's signature materials and manufacturing methods into a new category.
The case features an anodized aluminum exterior with Rimowa's signature groove pattern, a polished latch lock, and a rivet structure inspired by aircraft manufacturing. Opening the double doors reveals a microfiber-finished interior along with a Winmau professional-grade Blade X dartboard, and the doors house a custom dart set co-created by Rimowa and Winmau. It is designed for portability with a leather handle and can be mounted on a wall when needed.
This collaboration demonstrates how Rimowa’s function-oriented design philosophy can extend beyond travel luggage to sports and lifestyle products. By maintaining artisanal details and industrial design language while considering both the value of actual play and the potential of an interior object, the project has created a design that blurs the boundaries between collectibles and sports equipment.
