Franki, a taste and community-based restaurant platform

Franki, a restaurant discovery and rewards platform, has unveiled a new brand identity in collaboration with global creative studio Koto. Moving away from traditional recommendation services that relied on star ratings and anonymous reviews, the platform aims to transform into a community-centric space where actual users' tastes and experiences drive their next visits. The core idea running through the brand strategy is 'Make Time Dance.'.

The new identity originated from the personality of a 'Jester,' a cheerful and free-spirited clown. An energetic impression was established centering on a warm, curved wordmark, the Diatype Rounded typeface, and bright yellow and gold colors. The symbol, representing a 'person who knows good places,' points to URLs and locations or reacts like a character, guiding the user's next actions within products and content. Motions that open quickly, rotate, and bounce, along with immersive photographs, emphasize the joy of exploring the city.

Franki is a service that allows users to discover restaurants through short videos created by local users and receive cashback by paying with a linked card. It also offers additional rewards when a user's recommendation leads to an actual visit by another person. This rebranding represents a transformation that expands Franki's role beyond a place-searching tool into a community where users can share tastes and create quality time together.
